Stress Relief App Offers Relaxation for Caregivers: Caregiverlist Senior Care App Review

Working as a senior caregiver can amount to a high level of stress, particularly on rough days. Without an outlet to relieve stress, caregivers may feel overwhelmed. To maintain a healthy balance, caregivers should develop a stress relief routine. Exercising, looking at calming images or meditating are all good examples of stress relief activities for caregivers. To unwind and let go of the events of the day, try the Take a Break stress relief/meditation app.

The app features one basic concept- a voiceover with a guided stress relief mental exercise. The app allows the user to choose from two basic guided meditation categories- a work break or for stress relief. Then the user can customize the experience by selecting background music or calming nature sounds as background noise for the experience.

The beginning of the meditation asks caregivers to let go of the pressure of the day. One of the opening lines asks users to let go of whatever they feel that they have to do today and just relax. They go on to describe a sense of pressure that the user may be feeling and ask them to feel it in their body and then let go of it. As the meditation continues, caregivers can focus on their breathing and letting go of the stress weighing them down.

With only two options for the guided programs, some caregivers may not connect well with this particular option for meditation. Every person finds their own relaxation techniques in life, and what some people find relaxing, others may find doesn’t particularly move them. Try finding the best way for you personally to relieve your stress.

The Take a Break app is available for free for Apple and Andriod platforms.

Senior caregivers, let us know your feedback on this app and keep us posted if you discover additional apps that assist with caregiving duties and help relieve caregiver stress. You may also refer-a-friend to a senior caregiving job and win prizes weekly and monthly on Caregiverlist.
