Adventures are often seen as something for young people, especially when we look at the stories in the media. But why should adventure be limited to the young? Sure, they have lots of energy, but that doesn’t mean older folks can’t have adventures too!
With a little imagination and the right attitude, anyone can have an adventure. It’s not about how old you are; it’s about how you approach life. Take Gloria Northcutt, for example, at the age of 82, she went Zip-Lining in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. She proves that age doesn’t have to stop you from exploring the world.
You can enjoy adventures that engage mental activity as well as physical activity, such as learning how to speak a new language or play a new game such as chess or backgammon. New adventures are an important key to healthy aging by taking our mind off of our problems and helping to exercise our mind and body.
So, whenever you have the chance, go on an adventure and see how much fun and good it can bring into your life!
