MLB App Helps Caregivers, Senior Clients Keep Up With Favorite Teams

Spring has finally arrived and along with it, baseball season. As fans across the country this week have flocked to stadiums for opening day, senior caregivers and their clients can use the MLB.com app to stay in tune with their favorite teams and any others in the league they'd like to keep their eye on.

Baseball has been called the great American sport. Whether they're die hard fans or casual watchers, for many seniors baseball may evoke fond memories of their younger years. Additionally if you or your senior clients likes to keep up with the stats of a certain team but can't watch every game, the MLB.com app can help fill you in on the highlights.

When users first install the app, they select which teams they'd like to include in the overhead menu for quick access to stats, schedules and headlines. Caregivers can read game recaps or look at the upcoming schedule to see when a team will be playing next. The top bar of the app highlights the latest game played and shows the score break down inning by inning. If a senior client roots for a particular team, caregivers can watch a game or two with them and bond over the shared experience.

Accessing memories from younger years can help seniors use their minds for recall which may help prevent dementia. It also can bring about good feelings associated with those memories.

The MLB.com app is available for free for Apple, and Andrioid platforms.

Senior caregivers, let us know your feedback on this app and keep us posted if you discover additional apps that assist with caregiving duties and help relieve caregiver stress. You may also refer-a-friend to a senior caregiving job and win prizes weekly and monthly on Caregiverlist.
