Making small changes here and there in daily routines can add up to a must greater quality of life for senior caregivers. When it comes to cleaning, home maintenance and health, living well doesn't necessarily need to be difficult or time consuming. The Brightnest app offers tips and tricks for projects and daily routine changes to make life easier and more efficient.
The user experience in the app begins with a series of questions upon account set up- do you have kids or pets in the house, do you maintain a yard or keep a garage or an attic in order and what categories would you like to see tips in? The tips are divided into healthy, clean, green, handy, savvy, creative and hungry. Choosing more categories will yield more results, but selecting all seven may yield too many tips to scroll through and keep up with on a regular basis.
One of the best categories for senior caregivers to track may be the clean category, which provides information on how to do household chores such as effectively clean out the refrigerator and organize a closet. The handy category delves a little deeper to share information about how to maintain a clean refrigerator and defrost a freezer or reset a circuit breaker. These tips prove particularly useful for caregivers who assist in home maintenance for their senior clients. Signing up for the app also provides the option for weekly e-mail updates featuring four creative and handy home tips.
Other categories include creative ways of organizing, such as storing home supplies in mason jars, or examples of how to kill two birds with one stone and turn home cleaning into a workout. The layout of the app is clean and simple which makes it easy to navigate and the menu of tips shows exactly how much time each project will take to complete, ranging from 5 minutes to 60 minutes.
This app is available for free for Apple platforms.
