In a blog earlier this week, Caregiverlist highlighted the senior care recruitment process during this time of high demand for senior caregivers. Even for in home care positions, potential senior clients and their loved ones likely will request an interview before they hire you for a position. Using the 101 Answers app, senior caregivers can read advice on how to best prepare to talk about themselves and how they fit into the position they are interviewing for.
The app holds tips on how to answer 101 of what they've deemed as the most difficult interview questions. It reads sort of like an e-book, with a paragraph for each tip. Users swipe on the screen of their device to move onto the next tip.
Some of the tips may not directly apply to the job of a caregiver because the writing style suggests that the user is interviewing for an office job. However, plenty of the tips prove useful for the duties of a caregiver as well. One tip suggests the user acknowledge difficult situations in past jobs and share how they worked through that situation. For caregivers, this holds particularly true as a senior caregiver may have experienced setbacks in past positions when dealing with clients with dementia, limited mobility or other specific needs. Hearing about your experience working with these issues will help potential employers recognize your full ability to deal with and circumstances that may arise in your new position.
The app contains a lot to read, so breaking it up into flipping through it in ten minutes increments may work better than trying to absorb all the information at once.
This app is available for free for Apple and Android.
