2016 Election Coverage from Fox News App

The 2016 Presidential Election is a little over a year away and both the Democratic and Republican parties are gearing up for the primary elections in the spring to determine which candidates will represent them in the general election. After the first Republican debate last night, now is the perfect time for caregivers and their senior clients to get familiar with the various candidates running for both parties using the 2016 Election HQ Fox News App.

When users open the Election HQ app, they are greeted by a news page with the day's biggest headlines surrounding the election. Today users can read about various take aways from the first Republican debate, such as an analysis on how different candidates handled different questions. The news stories take the format of video or article, giving caregivers the opportunity to pick if they'd rather watch a clip or read about the topic.

The debate area of the app offers a timeline for all of the upcoming Republican debates and as they approach the app updates with time and which channel it will be shown on TV. As users watch the live debates, the app also offers a scorecard feature. Caregivers can rank how they feel about specific issues during the debates, and the scorecard will show them how their views align with the views of a particular candidate. Unfortunately the only way to use this feature is to watch the debate live on TV. Users lack the ability to retroactively open the app and complete a survey a day or two after a debate to see their results.

The final tab displays a list of all of the different candidates running for every party. When a user clicks on a particular candidate's name, the profile page with brief background on the candidate and related articles pop up. Unfortunately the profile pages don't display a summary of where each candidate stands on important issues, but the related articles area is extensive and offers insight into their stance on some of those issues.

Caregivers and their senior clients should take time to familiarize themselves with the candidates and in the coming months decide who they support for the 2016 election. Health care, compensation for workers and climate issues are just a few of the topics up for debate that affect daily life for a caregiver, so learn about the different candidates to see who take the same stance on these issues as you.

The Fox News Election HQ App is available for Apple and Android platforms.

Senior caregivers, let us know your feedback on this app and keep us posted if you discover additional apps that assist with caregiving duties and help relieve caregiver stress. You may also refer-a-friend to a senior caregiving job and win prizes weekly and monthly on Caregiverlist.
